The Dispatcher's Console comprise three displays. The primary dual display is shown below. The normal color of the tracks is blue on these displays. If a locomotive or detectable car is on a track segment, the occupancy sensor will fire and the JMRI Layour editor will repaint the occupied segment to red. Some track segments which were occupied when these photos were taken are shown in the photos below. These include: Williamsport alternate segment, 4% grade segment betweenWilkes-Barre and Tamaqua, Moosic alternate segment, one of the Philadelphia local loop segments, the Hazleton-Frackville segment, the Girardville alternate track and the Yeagertown switchback branch railroad segment.
The third display provides ancillary information. In the photo below, the third display is showing the Real-Time Status display usually shown in the train room. Again blue tracks are not occupied by a locomotive or detectable car. Red tracks are occupied. This information is (and should be) totally in sync with the above two dispatcher displays. JMRI uses a single data set to source the status on each of the three Layout Panels that we use.
The computer supporting this position also drives the Real-time display in the Train Room.
